Terracotta Floor

Hello,

At the beginning of my journey with Substance Designer, I created a Terracotta floor adorned with wooden planks. After working on several texture and material projects, I was advised to refine this material by using courses/tutorials to continue learning and address any shortcomings in my skills while validating what I had learned.

To achieve this, I chose the tutorial by https://www.artstation.com/kn96 for the "stone" (the tuto : https://www.artstation.com/marketplace/p/7ov3G/damaged-pavement-stone-khayyam-naghiyev) part and https://www.artstation.com/derkelshof tutorial for the wood (the tuto : https://www.artstation.com/marketplace/p/PGm9/creating-an-aged-wood-texture-in-substance-designer-derk-elshof). The tutorials were there to enhance my understanding and analyze the working methods of other artists by interpreting or reusing techniques I might not have thought of on my own. Simultaneously, I regularly shared screenshots to receive feedback and suggestions from experienced individuals to further improve this creation.

I learned a lot, and I sincerely thank the artists who created these tutorials, as well as everyone who took the time to provide feedback on my work-in-progress of this material.

Additionally, during this exercise, I wanted to create a custom node that allows choosing a shape with a picker to create a precise mask and have control over the grayscale on each of these pickers. I wanted to create this small node to manage the mask and the orientations of engravings on my floor. I mainly referred to the article/tutorial by https://www.artstation.com/rosko (Link to the blog post : https://rosko.artstation.com/blog/GnAL/substance-designer-mask-tools ) and received a lot of feedback from https://www.artstation.com/merakline.

Since I'm quite pleased with this little node, I wanted to share it with you. You can find it here: https://artstn.co/m/RpDGm .
